When Helena took her first professional job in October of 1991 she had no idea were the road would take her.

She attended George Brown Culinary Collage, and gradated top of her class. Helena joined her Junior chapter of the Escoffier society and Canadian Culinary Federation.

She enjoyed competing in culinary competitions,and received a bronze medal in the Ontario Skills Competition. Since then she has worked in several fine kitchens, Executive Chef of Slante, first prime pub in Hamilton, and Executive chef for Denningers.

These experiences have influenced her culinary style. Today Helena owns and operates Sol e Mar a Catering service specializing in fine dining meals in her customers home.

Every menu is personalized to their specific event. Helena is a proud supporter of her City of Hamilton and works with local charities to help them achieve their financial mandates.

Vine Dining, St. Joseph's Health Sciences Foundation, McMaster Library Foundation, Opera Ontario The Nutcracker, SoupFest, the Hamilton Art Gallery, and Hamilton Food Share Helena is an active member of the Canadian Culinary Federation, and sits on the board of the HDSCC as President.
